About
This is about three pairs of pants.
The first is the kind of pants that they sell you at travel stores. Khaki, high-waisted, tapered-leg, binding fabric, zip-off sections.
The second is a pair of snowboard pants. A product specific to a purpose, perfect for a purpose. Side vents and boot vents, calf pockets and elastic on the ankle lining, fleece-lined hand-warmer pockets, key clips, carabiner loops, jacket connection tabs. Sweet colours and stylish cuts.
The third is my favourite pair of jeans. They’re low-waisted, wide-legged and loaded with oodles of elastene – they’re incredibly comfortable, make my ass look smaller and I’d wear them everyday if I could. And yet, I retired them to ‘travel only’ because they’re perfect for long plane trips, squash small into the corner of my bag and go with every shirt I own.
This is about my hate for the first, and my love for the latter two.
This is about a love for traveling and traveling smart. It’s about packing and using the perfect thing. And it’s about not compromising. Well, not compromising too much.
